Uploading and Using Pictures

To upload a Picture to your site, follow the steps:

1. If you are not already logged in, log in using your username and password.

2. Select the “Pictures” link from the “Editors Only” menu at the top of the page.

3. Select the “Create a new Picture” link in the main body of the page.

4. Enter the name you want the picture to be referred to in the site, in the “Title” text box.

5. Enter the name of the file you want to upload (click the “Browse” button to find the image file on your computer network).

6. Click on the “Post New Picture” button.

Note: Depending on the size of your Picture, and the speed of your connection to the Internet, it may take a few moments to upload the picture to your site.

Make sure your picture is in either GIF or JPG (JPEG) format Make sure the picture does not have an excessively large file size (over 30KB) (see the hints page  for more notes about pictures (images))

Using “Pictures”

Once a Picture has been uploaded, it will appear in your list of pictures. You can add it to a page by following these steps:

 If you are not already logged in, log in using your username and password. 1. Locate the page you wish to add the Picture to, and click the “Edit this page” button. 2. In the text box locate the part of the page where you wish to add the image, and write the Picture’s name in quotation marks. e.g. “Mr Swanson”
